Humes and Moore Honored With All-CACC Second Team Selections

Philadelphia, Pa. – (4/19/2013) – Following tonight's meal at the Chestnut Hill College Commonwealth Chateau, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) announced the members of the 2012-2013 All-CACC Men's Tennis team. Representing the Griffins, sophomore Michael Humes (Mount Laurel, N.J.) and junior Anthony Moore (Williamstown, N.J.) earned All-CACC Second Team recognition, while the league's top team, Concordia College (NY), swept this year's All-CACC First Team selections.
 
Concordia College (NY) (15-2, 6-0) had eight student-athletes placed on the All-CACC roster, including CACC Player of the Year junior Daniele Piludu (Cagliari, Italy), who headlined an all-Clippers All-CACC First Team. Piludu was joined by seniors Andrey Boldarev (Tashkent, Uzbekistan), Andreas Lindell (Helsingborg, Sweden), and David Tisserand (Lyon France), and sophomores Benas Majauskas (Vilnius, Lithuania) and Tomasz Olfans (Opole, Poland), who all contributed to the Clippers #10 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) DII National Ranking and #1 NCAA DII East Regional Ranking. Concordia College (NY) Head Coach, Neil Tarangioli was recognized with his second straight CACC Coach of the Year award.
 
The league's Team Sportsmanship award was bestowed on Caldwell College (2-9, 1-5) while the CACC Rookie of the Year title was awarded to USciences freshman Jake Sosonkin (Brooklyn, N.Y.), who helped teammate, and All-CACC Second Teamer, sophomore Steven Galerkin (San Francisco, Calif.) earn the Devils the #4 seed in the upcoming CACC Championship Tournament. Also earning All-CACC Second Team status were Philadelphia University's senior Kyle Burke (Wakefield, R.I.), Post University's freshman Nicholas Tadros (Montreal, Quebec), Concordia College's sophomores Ricardo Frey (Curitiba, Brazil) and Juuso Ojanen (Varkaus, Finland), and the two Chestnut Hill College (15-7, 5-1) representatives, Humes and Moore.
 
Humes and Moore helped Chestnut Hill College to a 15-7 overall record and a 5-1 CACC finish. Individually, Humes, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) East Region's #15 solo competitor, offered a 17-8 record form the number one singles position while Moore concluded the year with 11-5 individual mark; primarily playing at number three where he was 8-4. In doubles, Humes teamed up with junior Manuel Ceniceros (Mexico City, Mexico) a 19-2 record, while Moore teamed with freshman Kevin Taylor (Burlington, N.J.) to finish 8-11 overall, 5-10 at number two.
