Ithaca, NY – (5/7/2012) – Chestnut Hill College senior second baseman Jesse Daywalt (Phoenixville, PA) returned to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Capital One Academic All-District ® Teams in 2012, this time as a First Team selection. Daywalt led the Griffin offense in the program's best season to date, 19-23, while excelling in the classroom as a political science and criminal justice dual major.

As team co-captain, Daywalt more than filled his role in 2012. He led Chestnut Hill College (19-23, 5-15) in batting (.310, 44-for-142), hits (44), walks (30), on-base percentage (.451), and stolen bases (29-for-34, .853) while ranking among the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's (CACC) top five in on-base percentage (5th) and walks (T3rd). He was an honorable mention for the CACC Player of the Week award on March 27 and was recognized during the preseason as a member of the 2012 Preseason National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association (NCBWA) All-East Region Second Team and a player to watch for the Tino Martinez Award.

Academically, Daywalt has garnered annual recognition from both the CACC and Chestnut Hill Collage. Daywalt was recognized at the 2011-2012 Chestnut Hill College Athletic Awards Reception for the College's highest Grade Point Average (GPA) among male student-athletes. He is a two-time member of the CACC Spring All-Academic Team (2010 and 2011) and a four-time member of the Chestnut Hill College Athletics Academic Honor Roll (Spring 2010-Fall 2011) after earning an Athletic Director's Association (ADA) Academic Achievement Award in 2010. As the College's first CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District ® performer, Daywalt was a Second Team selection during his junior campaign in 2011. He was joined on the 2012 All-District team by one other CACC student-athlete, Felician College's junior outfielder Joe Petosa (Spotswood, NJ).

In order to be selected by CoSIDA, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.5 GPA while performing at an exceptional level. Capital One became the entitlement rights holder to CoSIDA's Academic All-America teams programs in 2011.
