New Haven, CT - (1/17/2012) – The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) recognized 188 student-athletes from their 14 member schools with the release of the
2011 Fall All-Academic Team. Chestnut Hill College offered 12 student-athletes including three honorees who earned their third selection to the league's fall all-academic rosters. This year's membership total surpassed the 2010 fall team by 36 (152).
Senior defenseman
Chris Moore (Berlin, NJ), of the men's soccer team, joined two women's volleyball seniors, right side
Katherine Tohanczyn (Hatfield, PA) defensive specialist
Alyssa Miller (East Stroudsburg, PA), as three-time CACC Fall All-Academic members. The Chestnut Hill College women's soccer team contributed four all-academic performers in sophomore defender
Brittany Boles (Broomall, PA), sophomore forward
Marykate McShane (Lebanon, PA), junior defender
Joan Quinn (Trenton, NJ), and senior defender
Lauren Brown (Dover, DE). Two other members of the women's volleyball team also made the grade, sophomore outside hitter
Alex DePalma (Shillington, PA) and sophomore setter
Ali Eberly (Orwigsburg, PA), and three Griffin honorees came from the women's tennis team, sophomore
Kelly Dennis (Cincinnati, OH), junior
Maria Parapouras (Victoria, Australia), and junior
Nastia Shcherbakova (Minsk, Belarus).
In order to be named to the CACC All-Academic Team, recipients must have participated in a fall CACC-sponsored, championship sport, and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. The nominee must have been a student-athlete at their current school for at least two semesters, and achieve a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.50 or higher through the preceding semester.
