Joseph Trujillo (Derry, NH) and
Isabella Murray (Summerfield, NC) led Chestnut Hill College, who competed as individuals, at this afternoon's University of Delaware Invitational. Trujillo finished 13
th in the men's eight kilometer (8K) run at White Clay Creek State Park with a time of 28:55.17 while Murray was 39
th in the women's six kilometer (5K) run; she finished in 28:50.93. Richard Stockton College won the men's side with 33 points, while Gettysburg College won the women's side with 29 points.
Tujillo led Chestnut Hill College for the second straight week, scoring his second top 15 finish in his rookie campaign. He was supported by senior
Owen Ward (Croydon, PA), who ran 34
th with a time of 30:23.47, senior
Jeremy Goerlich (70
th, 39:31.15) and freshman
Adam Drabinski (Drexel Hill, PA) (73
rd, 40:56.53). The men's race was won by junior Bill Steele (Conowingo, MD) from Wilmington University with a time of 26.16.53.
Junior
Rosa Iott (Groton, CT) ran with Murray in the women's race for the Griffins. She placed 69
th with a time of 40:00.18. Sophomore Morgan Sinclair (Chadds Ford, PA) from Richard Stockton College was the leading lady, crossing at 23:54.49.
The cross country teams compete next in the Philadelphia Metro Meet on Saturday, September 24. The women's 5K at the Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia's Fairmount Park, is scheduled for a 12:15 p.m. start and the men's 8K to follow at 1:00 p.m.
