Boston, MA – (11/6/2011) – Six Griffins traveled to Boston, Massachusetts for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Regional Meet. Freshman
Joseph Trujillo (Derry, NH) paced Chestnut Hill College with a 97
th place finish in the men's ten kilometer (10K) race, the fastest time ever for a Griffin runner. The University of Massachusetts – Lowell won the men's regional with 71 team points. Stone Hill College won the women's six kilometer (6K) race with 57 points, but both individual victories went to American International College. The Yellow Jacket's junior Glarius Rop (Eldoret, Kenya) won the men's race with a time of 29:50.70 and his classmate, Jeptui Cherutich (Springfield, MA) crossed the finish line at 21:54.40 to win the women's race.
Chestnut Hill College was represented in the women's regional race by junior
Rosa Iott (Groton, CT) and freshman
Isabella Murray (Summerfield, NC). Murray placed 140
th with a time of 27:35.20 and a little more than ten minutes later (37:35.50) Iott crossed in 183
rd.
Trujillo completed the men's regional in 35:19.50. Senior
Owen Ward (Croydon, PA) was the next to cross the finish line for Chestnut Hill College, in 150
th with a time of 38:13.00. Senior
Julius Twyman (Coatesville, PA) was not far behind, he finished 168
th at 39:48.40 and another senior,
Jeremy Goerlich, was 178
th with a time of 44:47.40.
