Philadelphia PA – (9/7/2010) – Chestnut Hill College had 21 student-athletes earn Academic Achievement Awards from The Division II Athletics Directors Association (DII ADA). The Griffins had 15 award winners last year. The DII ADA Academic Achievement Awards are presented by WeatherPORT and are bestowed to student-athletes that perform at a high level academically with a commitment to athletics.
In order to be considered for nomination, a student-athlete must be at least a junior academically while carrying a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher, and participating in an intercollegiate varsity sport. The following Griffins were recipients for the 2009-2010 scholastic year;

The DII ADA Academic Achievement Awards are an honorable distinction for their recipients. The award winners demonstrate a high level of academic achievement that reflects well on their College's and athletic department's commitment to nurturing the student-athlete on the field and in the classroom. The DII ADA is the first organization of its kind to provide educational and networking opportunities; enhancement of acceptable operating standards and ethics; and establishment of the overall prestige and understanding of the professionalism of Division II athletic directors. The DII ADA is administered by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), which is in its 44th year. WeatherPORT employs more than 200 families and maintains several manufacturing facilities as well as a research and development facility to further innovate ways in which to meet customer's requisite needs.
