Philadelphia, PA – (9/5/2010) – Chestnut Hill College played host to a pair of women's volleyball matches this afternoon. The Griffins opposed Le Moyne College in the first contest of the double feature. The Dolphins won the match 3-0 (25-11, 25-20, 25-20) before defeating Philadelphia University 3-0 (25-23, 25-17, 25-22). Freshmen, middle hitter Mary Markowski (Parkton, MD) and outside hitter Kailey Arlen (Orland Park, IL) combined for eight kills, and eight blocks to lead the Griffin effort.

Sophomore outside hitter Courtney Fabian (Lake View, NY) held serve for eight straight points to put Le Moyne College (2-1) out to an early 9-1 lead. Chestnut Hill College (0-1) trimmed a point off midway through the game, 14-7, but the Dolphins carried on to a 25-11 win in the opener. Game three was tight and tied late, 18-18; but a Dolphin run ended the game, 25-20, and match, 3-0.
