Head Coach Kiesha King, a member of the women's basketball coaching staff since the 2005-2006 season, took over as the program’s head coach during the 2008-2009 season. In her first season at the helm the Griffins tripled their win total and won their second straight CACC Sportsmanship Award. During her time on the Griffins’ coaching staff, the women’s program has made postseason appearances in the Atlantic Women's Colleges Conference (AWCC), and the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC). She has coached three all-conference caliber student-athletes; Andrea Carter, Bethann Castone, and Kate Quintus. All of which are currently coaching locally at the collegiate or high school levels. Two in that group were 1,000-point scorers, Bethann Castone (1,174) and Kate Quintus (1,034).
At Philadelphia University, Coach King earned a bachelor's degree in management and finance in May, 2005, and later returned to earn a master's degree in business administration in May, 2006. During her undergraduate career, Coach King was a key player for the Lady Rams' basketball team who made four New York Collegiate Athletic Conference (NYCAC) playoff appearances and two trips to the East Coast Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships (2002 and 2003). She co-captained the Lady Rams in her senior season, 2004-2005, and received the Philadelphia University Athletic Director's Award (2005).
Coach King recently joined the College's full-time staff as Manager of Special Projects. She currently lives in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
